About Us
Garden Craft Guide is an independent online publication. A technique-first gardening site that explains the *why* behind each practice, not just the steps. Every piece treats a garden method as a small system — what the plant is doing biologically, what the technique changes, when it works, and when it quietly fails. The house voice is a skilled grower who has killed enough cuttings and lost enough seedlings to be specific about timing, temperature, and tradeoffs. Positioned between beginner listicles (too vague) and academic horticulture (too dense): reasoned, opinionated, reproducible.
Our Mission
We create useful, trustworthy, and actionable content for Intermediate home gardeners and small-plot food growers (roughly zones 4–9) who already have a season or two behind them and are ready to move from "buy plants, water them" to propagating, planning, and diagnosing on their own. Skews toward allotment/raised-bed vegetable growers, ornamental hobbyists expanding a shrub border cheaply, and homesteaders. They search mid-season with a specific problem or in winter while planning; they want the reason a method works so they can adapt it to their own conditions. We publish only researched and verified information — no clickbait, no filler.

Our Team
- Maren Elwood — Editorial byline, Garden Craft Guide
Maren Elwood is the editorial byline for Garden Craft Guide's review desk. Articles are drafted with AI assistance and reviewed before publication; horticultural claims are traced to extension services and published trials rather than personal anecdote. Corrections and questions: hello@storify.life
